Born and raised in Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. But deep down I always knew it was never going to be my forever home; it was just the place where I would grow up. As a young adult, I left the flatlands behind and moved to Colorado, a place that had been calling me for most of my adolescence.
The Rockies ignited a passion for exploration that quickly became an obsession. Weekends were spent hiking through alpine landscapes, camera in hand, chasing the ever-changing light and the raw beauty of the mountains. But it wasn't just about the places; it was about the feeling. The thrill of discovering something new, of standing somewhere I'd never been before, became addictive. Before I knew it, nearly all my freetime was dedicated to seeking out that next awe-inspiring moment.
After 13 years in Colorado and countless adventures across the U.S., I realized it was time to broaden my horizons and see what else was out there. I wasn't just looking for new places; I was chasing that same feeling. Without overthinking it, I booked a flight to Italy and spent the next two months selling everything I owned, preparing for a leap into the unknown. In the fall of 2022, I left for Milan with just a suitcase, a backpack, and no intention of returning.
Since then, I've been moving from country to country, following that feeling wherever it leads and trusting my instincts to guide the way. When I find a place that I can stay without the itch to relocate, I'll know I've found my home. Until then, I'll keep moving with my camera in hand, eyes open, and heart all in.
My photography is about capturing what draws me in: the light, the atmosphere, or just the feeling of being there. Moments that make me pause, even if I can't fully explain why. I hope my work encourages others to follow their curiosity and explore something new, even if it's just a different perspective. And for those who can't venture far, I hope it brings the world a little closer. If nothing else, let it serve as a reminder to appreciate this planet we call home.
